Ron Newton did not plan a career transition from rehabilitating troubled teens in his wilderness camp ministry to building better workplace leaders and work cultures.

But in 1992, frustrated business leaders and insurers contacted Ron, insisting that the wilderness ministry he conducted contained solutions to their employee engagement problems. They recognized his potential to help them engage employees and close generation gaps that are common in change-resistant workers and organizations.

In response, Ron founded PEAK Training Solutions to help them.

Since then, Ron has trained over 10,000 employee leaders in 75 companies on 5 continents in how to use faith-based leadership principles to achieve cooperative efforts, often utilizing safety management as a change agent.

Ron Newton is a 1978 graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary. He is a dynamic speaker, contributes to numerous publications, and appears frequently as a work place culture expert on national media.

Ron’s career in a nutshell …

• 20 years leading a rugged wilderness camp ministry to rehabilitate delinquent youth; conducting inner-city ministry to impoverished youth; and serving as a juvenile prison chaplain.
• 30 years teaching faith-based leadership skills to change-resistant workers in 75 companies on 5 continents; advising business leaders on how to better serve their line-level employees; and writing and speaking on the topic of jerks on the job.

• Certified Loss Control Management specialist by DNV [Det Norske Veritas]    
• Keynote speaker and workshop presenter at 35 regional or national business conferences and corporate meetings
• Leadership training program creator and provider for businesses in the municipal services, public safety, oil & gas, maritime, subsea, manufacturing, stevedore, entertainment, airline, shipbuilding, agricultural, health care, pharmaceutical, and construction industries
• Conducted leadership training programs for 100 people responsible for the environmental protection of Valdez harbor and Prince William Sound, Alaska
• Conducted leadership training programs on 5 continents, resulting in the certification of 1,800 vessel officers to STCW federal licensing standards
• Created and delivered two empathy-based customer service training courses for a local tax appraisal district in Texas  
• Created and delivered 1,400 days of safety leadership training for the maritime and shipbuilding industries, training 3,500 mariners and 600 shipyard employees
• Created two behavioral pre-employment screening profiles, then certified the profile’s administrators and conducted follow-up quality control
• Delivered customer service training for a municipal utilities department in Louisiana
• Developed two digital-delivery new hire orientation & safety training programs

Current—ministry

Ron carries his accomplishments into leadership of the non-profit ministry organizations he has been blessed to conduct over the past half-century. Currently, he serves as President of Integrity at Work—iWORK where he hosts and produces the BLUE COLLAR MAN STUFF ministry video series.
